The Mosin-Nagant M1891/30 is an advanced version of the M1891 bolt-action rifle designed by Colonel Mosin and the Nagant brothers during the Imperial Russian era. More than 12 million of this weapon were produced between 1930 and 1944, and they proved their worth as a tough military rifle in the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front during World War II. The Mosin-Nagant is also known as the gun of choice for many famous snipers, and the legendary sniper Simo Hayha used a Finnish-made model of this rifle.
